Deed Poll
A Deed Poll is a "Deed" that is executed by one party
only; so called because the paper on which it is written is "Polled"
(cut straight and not indented). This is in contrast to an indenture,
which is a document cut into two parts along a zig-zag line.
Deed
A legal document, under Seal, setting forth something that has
been done (e.g. a grant or an agreement etc.)
Poll
Meaning to be cropped, shorn or cut straight.
